I believe I have enough credit to finally graduate from EC, but first, I need to get all my documentation together *augh*.

I have a microsoft MCP XP pro cert from a couple years ago and two CompTIA certs (A+, N+). How can I get a transcript (or whatever) sent to Excelsior from these sources? Also, I do not have any documentation I can find for my AP Literature test, I received a 4 but it was years ago. I bet I could find the docs in a pinch (I saw them before I moved) but it would be easier if there is a way to just order a transcript with my SSN or something.

    Thanks ahead of time!

You can go through MS to order a transcript to send to EC. The information is on the MCP Website. They didn't charge me for sending my MCSE+I, so I was happy about that. For the Comptia stuff, you're in luck though, its much much easier.

Below are the instructions I got as far as submission of the transcript from CompTIA.

And I have no clue as far as your AP exam transcript, sorry.

You are awesome, thanks so much!

It does appear they have updated the site since the Excelsior info page was created; however, I believe I got it figured out.

Do you know if they give more than one credit per cert? For some reason I think it's just one per test, but it's been so long that I'm not sure if any are worth more.

I'm very agitated with Microsoft MCP website, the authentication page appears to be broken. If I put in the wrong credentials I get an error, if I put in the correct ones the page does not respond to a request to validate, I've tried all four browsers on this computer. So I guess I'll try again in a couple hours.

The CompTIA site worked, surprise, surprise.

If anybody is a MCP and can check and see if the problem is on my end or Microsoft's side and then report what browser/OS worked (if applicable) that would be great.

I got a fruity windows live signin deal when I went on, but I was able to get in using IE8...

BTW, you can't order your transcript on the site, you have to contact the regional service center.

    Telephone: (800) 636 7544
    E-mail: [email protected]
    Fax: (661) 793 6555
    Address:
    Microsoft Certification Programs
    P.O. Box 911
    Santa Clarita, CA 91380-9011
    United States

And no, you can't publish the MCP info and send it to EC to get it done that way... I tried that too.. It took about 2 weeks to get the transcript to EC for me, but they'll send it straight there.

For AP, go to collegeboard.com and order a score report. They will send one directly to EC for you, but it will take a few weeks.

THEN, it will take a few weeks for EC to finish evaluating you.

@MC: I can't wait to graduate, but realistically, it doesn't make whole lot of difference how long it takes :). Thanks for the information, I'm all set! Let the paper shuffling begin!

@TMW: A phone number! *cheers* That will be easier than wading through this MCP website crap anyway. Thanks a million! My now irrelevant problem is I need a new "access code" because I have not logged in over a year, and although I successfully acquired that the site is just not working after this point, I can get past the windows live ID part. I guess I wasn't thinking it through when I asked people to check if the site was working because my situation would be unlikely to apply to most.

Yeah, I got the access code deal, too. I had them attach my live account to the email address and they sent me it... Twice. Shrug.

IIRC they just needed my mcp number and all that stuff, and they got it sent off.

I got all the info to associate my number with my live account (again), the problem is once I got all the information I needed the site just didn't work. I literally have everything I need to log in, the site just wouldn't take it and no error was returned (if authentication fails on the MCP site HUUUUGE red text appears to tell you exactly why, but not so in this case). I haven't checked yet today.

I meant that I just needed the MCP number for the regional help center to send the transcript.
