I applied for a Master's program in Human Resource Development with the University of Illinois. They have a cohort scheduled to start in January. The original application deadline was September 1. Then they moved it to October 1, and today I noticed that they extended the deadline until November 1.

That seems a little confusing, and I hope it doesn't mean I'll have to wait until December to hear about their decision on my application. Not only would it be very short notice, but I also applied to (and have been accepted into) a few other programs and would like to make a decision soon.

Does anyone have experience with the U of Illinois' admission processes? This is UI Urbana-Champaign.

I know it's a very good school, but nothing about the admissions process. Hopefully they have rolling admissions, a lot of graduate programs do, and you will be notified before the final application deadline. It sounds like that might be what they are doing.

Clemson University offers the exact same program. Not sure if you have looked into them or not, but I believe they are a couple thousand dollars cheaper.

Man, I thought I knew them all! Thanks for pointing Clemson out, looks like a great program.

As for Illinois: I'm actually a little worried that they might not be able to fill the cohort. Obviously they need a minimum number of people to get started. I'll give them a call and see what they say.
