The latest in unwonderful psychology programs

    Boy, what a lucky day!

So today I got a phonecall from someone with a thick New York accent who left a message saying that I had been offered a "full scholarship" to the "fully accredited" Holistic Psychology degree from the American Institute of Holistic Health and Wellness.

They even had my name and claimed that someone had submitted my name for the scholarship!

But guess what... the school is accredited by several well-known fake accreditors, and if you take a look at their web page not only does it look like it was designed in 1994, it really doesn't say at all exactly what you're getting.

A little more web research revealed this lovely video

I'm wondering if maybe she was employed by Clayton College (both programs are with the same unwonderful accreditor) and now, with that money train gone, she's branching out on her own?

  2. Is "holistic psychology" an APA division of psychology?

A much better web site could be made with Angelfire's templates... and much better video could be made on my laptop's built-in webcam. If they are trying to scam people, they aren't trying very hard.

There are at least one or two APA-accredited programs with holistic psychology programs, if not in name, most definitely in curriculum.

I don't think APA recognizes holistic psychology as a specialty, but there are several non-mainstream psychology programs, such as somatic psychology or transpersonal psychology programs from a number of RA schools, that are quite legitimate. This program is not one of them. :)

I do not remember a job fair?!?!?

I received a call from holistic psychology. Expressing someone had entered my name into a scholarship and I was a winner! They talked for a very long time as to try to be very unformatted for the person receiving the message. It was a older lady with a NY accent. They even spelled out the website Holisticpsychologyschool.com and spoke of a Dr.Seymour. Which is unknown in my memory. There was no accreditation excepted the accreditation they gave themselves and one tab on there site went in WorldPeace with a link to worldpeace.org. All the photos on the site are quite cheesey and as I googled the location it popped the same cheesy pic of a lady in the 80s, a holistic lookin logo and a pic of street view. Great! But no reviews so that could have also been done by them.... Not worth the risk! I am lead to say it is a scam after research.
