I recently made a trip to Troy's main campus in Troy, Alabama and really enjoyed myself. Troy seems like a fine school. Hey, I might even transfer next semester, but I'm undecided on that right now. Go Trojans! :)

What program are you looking at?

Troy is a truly rare school indeed, in that you can actually do an Interpreter Training Program completely online. I know of only one other program like it, but it is overwhelmingly expensive. Troy is a great deal, at least for Sign Language Interpreters.

Could you please share with the MPA program was like. Did you complete the program online? How were the classes delivered (discussion forums, online, were they synchronous or asynchronous) and how was the testing handled (no tests, proctored, essays only, etc)?

First, I really enjoyed the MPA program at Troy. The entire program was conducted online. The classes were nearly all asynchronous. Each class had separate requirements regarding essays but every class required at least one proctored exam. Most of the program was focused on the case analysis method as a means to understand issues within the public sector. Weekly discussion assignments were easy to understand. That meant a lot to me because the biggest issue in taking an online class is the lack of clear instruction since you cannot easily ask for guidance.

    I saw that.

I've always like Troy a lot, the visit just sent them over the top. I plan on starting in the Winter. :)
