I have about a year and a half left for my bachelors degree, but I was wondering if there were any DL undergraduate certs in Christian/Bible studies.

My ultimate goal is to attain a M.Div and a MA in Professional Counseling, but I want to build some basics first. I'm using my Post 9/11 to pay for my bachelors, but I also have a some savings built up that I could use for an inexpensive undergrad cert.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

By all means, do not waste your money with undergraduate courses. I have an undergraduate degree in the field, and I was bored to tears with the seminary courses I took. IMO, most first-year seminary courses are pretty close to undergraduate level.

I say this with one exception: if you can find a certificate in biblical languages, then it might be worth your time. Having a background in Greek and Hebrew will help you immensely in seminary.

They have a free Certificate program. It's RA and good from what I understand.

Why not just finish up your BA as quickly as possible and then look into a master's in your area of interest. I'm not sure how much a certificate would help you but some of the schools below might offer certificates. I know they each offer a MDiv.

Here's some schools to look at: Liberty University is a great, RA school and offers what you are looking for at a decent price. I'm enjoying it so far. Liberty University

Nations University is in the process of getting DETC accreditation and would be your least expensive alternative. It's not RA or DETC but it's free! NationsUniversity - Tuition-free Online Christian Education - NationsUniversity

Veritas Seminary (not to be confused with a diploma mill that has a similar name) is currently becoming accredited and was started by one of the great Bible scholars of our time, Norman Geisler. VERITAS EVANGELICAL SEMINARY.COM - HOME

  8. If Nations University gets DETEC accrediation and remains free, that would make it very attractive. I would be very interested, it could be number five for me. While it is unaccredited, I can't consider it because I live in Australia and making any use of an unaccredited degree for personal advantage is illegal.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your response.

I'm trying to slug out my undergrad soon, but I'm mainly wanting to get some experience in theology courses.

Yep, I've seen Liberty. It's my preferred choice to complete my M.Div, and possibly the MA in Professional Counseling. I'm actually really looking forward to attending the school via DL.

To the other two posters, thanks for responding, I'll look into the programs you provided.

    Thanks again.

Global University offers several both graduate and undegraduate certificates in several Theology/Bible/Ministry related disciplines.

It is a school of the Assemblies of God serious, rigorous but also RA and cheap.

And to make it even better on top of those benefits they offer a great advantage: you can transfer undergrad Bible and Theology classes into a grad program at a 2:1 ratio.

    I hope it helps :)
