It's a a very interesting story how Gollin helped to bring down the St. Regis mill. Covert meetings, bribes for fake Lberian accreditation, huge amounts of money; it reads like a spy story. I, at least, haven't read that one before. Thanks for sharing.

Those using such fake credentials should be brought out to the open and shamed.

I believe that the old way of "tar and feathering" would be much more appropriate and would discourage others from tryung to profit from fake degrees :D

When I worked out of the Spokane office of Homeland Security I actually worked with Immigration Services checking to see who had purchased degrees from St. Regis and used those degrees to enter the country illegally. It was an eye opening case to say the least.

Since St. Regis was based out of Spokane, our local paper has a list of everyone who recieved their degree from St. Regis:

Search of St. Regis purchased degree holders

The list has people who went to legit schools on it....

White, Theresa Rose FL United States PhD Univ. of Phoenix
Witherspoon, Cleveland Jr. APO US-APO BA Concordia University

While not everyone on the list prepared by the U.S. Department of Justice purchased a diploma or certificate, the department found information about the people listed below in various records kept by those running the diploma mill.

I feel bad for the names of the people with legit degrees that end up on theis list.

If you google her name she pops up in the first page on a fake degree list.

There is a guy in Spokane that has legit degree from good local schools who was listed on the website. He does not list his fake degree on his linkedin page. I wonder why/how those people's names appear on the list?

    Hi

I presume those numerous "Concordia" degrees in the list (one cited above by b4cz28) are from the well-known MILL Concordia - and purchased through the intermediary of the St. Regis felons. Not likely that even one of them is from any of the good, mostly Lutheran-affiliated schools of that name.

    Counterfeit degrees included?

    Hi again -

Re: some of those "legit" degree-holders:

The article said the SRU group was engaged in the sale of "Phony and counterfeit" degrees.

From that, I'm assuming that in this list, the legit-appearing school-names, like U. of Phoenix do not likely refer to anyone's accomplishments. I think I am to infer that where they represent actual sales, they may be sales of counterfeit degrees purporting to be from those schools.

IIRC the complete (unedited) list included in many cases the price paid to SRU group for the bogus degree and the address to which it was sent. Prof. George Gollin has referred to this list in detail in another forum, a few times.
