I have searched this on here and all I come up with is:
EMBA: Students have more management experience under their belt, most work in cohorts in their programs and there are better networking opportunities.

So, I have a BS in pharmacy in 1994, GPA in college was 2.9, and I need a fully online program with no gmat. I have been a manager in operations for approx 7 years (I am not a retail pharmacist)...advice?

What price range? Do you have your heart sent on an EMBA or an MBA?

Have you had a chance to view "The Best MBA Degree" discussion yet? There are volumes of information under that topic.

I don't have my heart set on anything yet. I am just doing the research about programs on line with no GMAT and ones that would take my GPA. I understand I am not going to be going to Duke or Harvard! And I am fine with that.
I just don't understand the advantages of an EMBA over an MBA....just want to make the best choice I can.

From what I have found, EMBAs cost about $50K and a standard MBA can run you $10-25K. The EMBAs require some residency and MBA may not.

How important is name recognition? California State University and University of Florida have MBAs and so does TUI University and Aspen University. All will be an MBA but much difference name recognition. Do you have any business undergraduate courses? That may make a difference in the pre-req you may have to take.

What state do you live in? State schools with online MBAs may offer a great deal. My first thought are Jacksonville State (cost about $10K and is AACSB accreditied) but will require pre-req if you do not have any business classes in the undergrad work.

LSU - Monroe also has an affordable AACSB online MBA. How fast do you want to finish? Is there a particular concentration you are interested in? Do you just want an MBA that is quick and accreditied and do not care about a "big name school" and AACSB accreditation (AACBS is a higher level of accredition for business schools and only a small percentage of school hold this level of accreditiation).

Florida Institute of Technology has an online MBA that cost about $20K and I do not think they requrie pre-reqs of a GMAT - http://online.fit.edu/

Sorry for so many questions but the options are almost endless.

Quite a few of the schools mentioned here do require a GMAT score. I have to ask, why are you opposed to taking the GMAT? If you could get a decent score on the GMAT (mid-600s) that could balance out the undergraduate GPA and demonstrate that you possess above average business acumen. The GMAT will open up so many additional options for you.

The EMBA is typically more expensive (because typically the students in those programs have the entire degree financed through their employer and the schools know they can charge an absurd amount of money), has some residency requirements, and requires fewer courses to complete (because of the advanced management/business experience of admitted student). They typically come from well known schools, I don't know of any EMBAs from smaller schools lacking name recognition.

The MBA will require a lot of core/foundation courses across all business disciplines, be less expensive and may or may not have residency requirements.
