How do I take the final test? Meaning where do I go in Alek to take it? Also, is the final test longer than the assessment tests? I'm hoping to take the final today or tomorrow.

    Thanks,

    Dave

If it's the same as it was for me, you just need to log in to the master account, request an assessment on the student account, and take the assessment. If you score 70% or above, you passed. Get the credit through ACE.

I thought that there was a comprehensive master test that you had to take and receive 70% or above in order to receive credit through ACE. However it look's like once your asssement scores are above 70% you can submit your scores.

Instructions to Receive ACE Credit for an ACE Credit-Recommended ALEKS Course:

Register in an ALEKS ACE credit-recommended course and assess at 70% or greater on the course material.
Register with the ACE Credit Online Transcript System and submit a transcript request.
ALEKS Corporation will receive the transcript request and verify if you have assessed at 70% or greater on the course material. This usually takes ALEKS Corporation approximately three business days.
If you have assessed at 70% or greater, you will receive an email from ACE when processing is complete. This usually takes approximately 1-3 business days for ACE to complete.
If your request is denied, you can continue to work in your ALEKS Pie until you have assessed at 70% or greater on the course material, and then resubmit a transcript request following the steps above.
The ACE transcript can be used to request college credit at educational institutions that grant credit for ACE credit-recommended courses.

Next question. I'm currently working through Pre-Algebra. Currently I'm sitting at 87%. I want to work at this until I assess at 95% or above. Once I hit the 95% mark I want to on to start working in the Intermediate Algebra module? Everytime I log in it automatically moves me into the Pre-Algebra module. How do I end one class and start another?

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Dave,

You change courses through your master account. Actually, once you assess higher than I think 90%, you'll get an email telling you it's time to move on to a new course and "here's how."

Hang on, let me see if I can find one of the emails I got for my son.... Shoot. I must've deleted them. Okay, anyway, basically, the emails say something like, "It looks like Z- has mastered this course. You can log in at your master account and use the 'edit student account' link to change to a new course."

The link is on the bottom left-hand side of the screen when you log in to the master account.

Assuming it works the same for all types of users (we're registered as "Independent Use Subscription" - which I assume would be what anyone here would be), when you first subscribed you should have received a confirmation email. ("ALEKS Purchase Confirmation [REF:welcome]")

In this email, scroll down and there will be log in information for a Master Account and a Student Account.

Actually, when you registered, you should have entered the information for the master account. At least, that's how it worked for us. ALEKS gave us the UserID and password for my son's "student account," but let me choose what I wanted for the master account. The email simply confirmed that information.

If you for some reason can't find the info you need to log in, I'm sure you could contact their support services.

Since pre-algebra isn't ACE evaluated, this won't be a big deal...however, if you do this next time you'll be screwed.

You can't change courses until your 70% assessment is recorded on your ACE transcript. So, if you get the 70 and just change, your 70 is lost forever. You must complete the process in the correct sequence.

    Open ALEKS account (fee)
    take initial assessment
work on pie until you can pass an assessment with 70%
    pass an assessment with 70%
    open an ACE account
submit your ALEKS course to ACE for approval
ACE approves your class/appears on your transcript
log into ALEKS master account, change to next class
    repeat

when you have all of your ALEKS courses finished:
    go into ACE account
request official transcript (fee) be sent to college of your choice
College determines if/amount of credit for courses
