Ok, so I know I want to enroll in an online MHA program. I can't do MPH because my focus is to work in allied health education, private healthcare facilities or the medical insurance industry, so an MPH won't fit my desired career goals. I know many here have researched, are in or going to an MPH program. I'm hoping maybe along the way someone may have found some MHA programs that I haven't unearthed. The school has to be RA since I currently teach at an RA school and I expect to stay there. Cost is another big factor as I can't afford outrageous tuition since I'm going the all cash route. I'm also not interested at 47 in having to take a GMAT or GRE to prove I'm a capable student worthy of admission. I have been in healthcare in some capacity for almost 30 years and I will have completed 3 degrees in 16 months leading up to this program with all A's and B's. I just think I shouldn't have to prove anything at this stage of the game. Stupid maybe, but I'm just not buying the value of it.

I had narrowed my search down to St. Joseph's College of Maine and Bellevue University. Both are basically unranked on most polls, but both are RA. They each have some attributes, but both have a lot of negative reviews. Bellevues FAFSA stats for graduation and retention are horrible, like 7% and 28%! Supposedly, their MHA program head indicates a 90% graduation rate and the largest MHA program in the country. I would go to UNC-Chapel Hill, as they have a good program and are local, but they are not enrolling again until fall 2011 due to program changes. I just don't want to get out of the school mode or my work and family life will creep back in and I will lose my energy for school.

If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance for your help!

I had a very good experience with Bellevue (I just completed a BS in Behavioral Science through BU). Not sure how the MHA program is structured, but I only had one instructor for my entire undergrad cohort (10 classes). Fortunately, my instructor was excellent, but you can see how this could bad for a student who ends up with an instructor that they do not get along with.

    Best of luck,
