Hey guys, I've been a "lurker" here for some time, but this is my first post. Please don't flame if this has been asked and I haven't found it. I've started the process of having my AARTS, CC and IT Certs evaluated by EC. Ideally, I'd like to accelerate through an AS, then hopefully use it for entry to ECU's degree completion program in Health Information Management, as it's final semester for matriculation into the program is fall of '11. Have you guys had any experience with using a "big three" AS degree to satisfy entry requirements for state funded universities? Thanks so much for all of the info you guys post on here. It's invaluable not only in knowledge and preparedness, but also motivation.

Most schools will acknowledge your AS degree and accept you with Junior standing. However, the acceptance of credits is another story altogether. You may think you only have two years remaining for a BS but that is often not the case. You may have three or even fours years remaining depending on what credits they accept towards your Bachelors degree! That holds true for state schools or private universities.

I agree with Delta. It depends.

I would review the schools of interest offering the bachelors degree desired and try to match their first 2 years of their bachelors program. Your potential credits from AARTS, CC and IT Certifications may fit into the general elective area, unless the those credits map directly into the desired major as general education or prerequisites for upper level course.

It worked for me, my AS from Regents College (preceded EC) mapped perfectly into my bachelors using this procedure, but that was in the last century ;<)
