My daughter has announced that she wants to learn French and not Spanish like her brother. I took French all the way back in the Bronze Age when I was in high school and pretty much all I remember now is how to order a cup of coffee (with milk!) which is just fabulous - considering I can't stand coffee.

 

Hahaha - you'd be surprised how much the brain remembers. I took French during the same period. All these years have passed, never did well in the subject, figured I'd even have a hard time ordering that coffee.

Then I took an Intro to Spanish class a few years ago - kept mixing up my Spanish with French. Fortunately, my instructor (who spoke both languages, besides English.. ) had a good sense of humor.

Now I'm looking forward to learning French. I figure I have a little head start, even if it's an ancient one at that.
