Does anyone know about any MST online programs which are willing to accept admissions without a prior undergrad degree and would allow for a substitution of resumes and extensive work experience and designations?
I never completed my BA however started a business 10 years ago and have extensive experience and background in all subject matters the course covers.

You will need to be careful with the schools you choose because many of the schools that offer what you seek might not be legit. There are a lot of lousy schools and lame programs being offered online. Hopefully someone else will be able to give you more specific information about MST programs.

This is the 3rd thread on the first page that is asking for a graduate degree without an undergraduate. Must be a trend.

Why does everybody feel entitled to do a graduate degree without doing an undergraduate degree?

No crap, thats what I was thinking. Heck, I'm gonna start a thread about any Phd's that you need no prior education to start.

There is the MBA and MSc programs at EBS that don't appear to require an undergrad degree (just pass the first 3 courses). I believe you could then move on to the DBA from there. I understand the exams are difficult.

Many Australian Universities will accept a student for a Masters Degree, but only where there is considerable experience in the field sought to be studied. I, in fact, did that and went back later to complete a BS for no particular reason other than I wanted to.

Originally, the Masters Degree in the UK was the first degree, however, later the Bachelor's Degree was introduced. In the current British Commonwealth, the Bachelor's Degree is usually the professional qualification, not the Masters. Most people do not go beyond that.

The Masters in Australia, with a few notable exceptions in business faculties, are considered the first of research degrees, not "doing" professional degrees. You may, for example, research a topic in taxation in small business and then present a thesis for marking by three people chosen by the university do so. Your university supervisor helps you develop your literature review of the topic, design a research model, submit a full proposal, then supports your research endeavours, and your writing of the thesis. Once, he/she is satisfied with your efforts, it will be presented for marking.

The field you have chosen is very specific and it may be that only a US degree will meet your needs. If this other model does suit, then you could try some Australian Universites for admission. They will expect that you have a general topic area that you want to research. Usually, two to three pages setting out the research topic will suffice in the first instance.

    Thank you!

Can I just start taking my doctoral courses this fall instead of finishing up my MA?

It's frustrating for me to some degree because I have 49 graduate hours but no degree yet (too much fooling around in different fields)!

I obviously struck a core nerve with a few:) Thanks to those who have chosen to reply with serious answers. Yes I haven't followed the "traditional" path that many of you have. However I'm 34 and own an extremely successful legitimate business and have been in the top 2% of income earners nationally for the last 6 years. Let's see.... that puts me ahead of a lot of "PHD's"... I never completed my college education as I focused primarily on athletics and women vs. my education. As a result I didn't obtain the degree. However I am fully confident my life experiences and education puts me at that level of education to start a masters program and thus all I'm looking for is a chance to enhance my education and do this for personal accomplishments. I have passed the EA exam for enrolled agents and CPA exam on the first tries. I know that some of you look down on those who don't have those same "designations" or degrees hanging on your walls but remember America is the land of opportunities and I'm just looking for an opportunity to enhance myself. Why fault that? Besides we've built a culture of entitlement.... Thanks for those who continue to post helpfull posts with basis and not some of these passive aggressive comments!

Congratulations on your accomplishments, you have done well. The fact remains that you are attempting to get an advanced degree without first earning any degree. Just imagine how you would have entered high school without learning basic skills required to function in school at junior high or elementary school. It is fine to attempt to exploit short cuts when they are available it is just going to be next to impossible in the American system to get a legitimate Masters (6 years total) without the previous 4 year degree. I am sure there is a foreign school somewhere, a diploma mill here, or some other alternative that can make it happen for you. Legitimately, find a school that will allow you to do PLA for courses if you think you have the experience to do it. There will still be required courses, that are a stepping stone to a well rounded education (that is what a BA/BS is for) that you will have to accomplish.

Easy there big fella....Good for you on all your blah blah blah. The thing is most over us here worked our ***** off, or are currently working our ***** off on over lower level degrees. You are wanting to skip out on your lower level education to go right for the top. Your life experience does not make up for a bachelors degree. How many papers did you have to write chasing girls? I'm not mad at you, nor is anyone else here. Why not spend some time to get your AA or AS first?

Also, just because someone is rich does not exempt him or her from hoop-jumping.

With your extensive knowledge you should be able to pass all the required CLEP exams and earn your BA or BS in a fews weeks. It would be easier to take that route then find a school that will take you with it. The other option is to test out of an MBA at Heriot-Watt University. No bachelors degree required. Let us know how that goes.
