Thanks a million. I will look into those. I have an MEd in Educ. Leadership from Walden but I want to have the ability to teach at the college level and for that I will need a number of credits at the masters level. I'm trying to come up with the most affordable way to do this. Thanks for the info!

As you probably know, 18 credits are the minimum requirement in addition to your MEd. Check into Western New Mexico University (WNMU Home Page). They offer a number of areas where you can get 18 graduate hours in. Although they don't have an official Spanish concentration as part of their MAIS degree program, they offer a couple of courses in Spanish at the graduate level. In the fall they are offering Spanish translation online. Each class is a little over $500. You could also look into Ft. Hays State University. They are another alternative for cheaper graduate credits in a particular field an have areas that Western New Mexico University does not have yet. Good luck!

Hey maybe I'm saying this to other readers/lurkers and not specifically to ajredaelli but if you're fluent in Spanish and you have an MBA and you are willing to travel then you have a big ticket into the business world.

    ¿De veras?

Too bad I would hate to be in the "business world."

Thank you all. Yes Farina, that is exactly what I'm trying to obtain, 18 credits with an accredited school at the most affordable price. As you know, education is not exactly a money making field so I have to keep it cheap. I also heard that taking a couple of classes at the time will allow me not to make student loan payments during that time ..... which I hope is true!

    Dear ajredaelli,

I'm looking for the same thing, but I need a masters in Spanish, more than the 18 credits you are looking for. Did you look into NMSU yet? I wrote to the graduate director because I have questions, reciprocity among them, to make sure the DOE in Mass. will give me a prof. license when I've completed the program. If you don't miind, please write again when you choose a program. Thank you.

cara401 - Somehow, I cannot find your response to this thread. I tried calling NMSU but was not able to get an answer. Maybe they were closed because of the long weekend. I will try again this coming week. I was out of town part of last week so maybe I need to try harder now ;)

I will keep you updated. I also rather just pursue the masters ..... just worry about $$!
