I thought I would share this article with you. Westbrook University has signed an agreement with Ain Shams University in Egypt (A very well known univ in the Middle East) to offer MBA and DBA degrees to students from Egypt.
And after 2 years of the agreement date, students and the school found out that Westbrook is a degree mill or never existed.

You can click here to read the article but it is written in arabic. But they have a sample of the student ID issued to students and a copy of the agreement between the two universities.

As per the article, the number of students enrolled so far is 1,232 students.
As per the agreement, a MBA degree costs US $3,350 and DBA costs US $4,600.

Well that clearly is the fault of Ain-Shams administration. You don't even have to be modestly intelligent to click on their homepage and see Westbrook themselves ("real" or not) doesn't even purport to offer MBA and DBA's.

I think Westbrook, always an unwonderful, was sold or something recently; a lot of the administration (most of whom held bogus credentials) seem to have left, and the school now claims to be operated out of West Virginia I think.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's simply a shell even of its former nonwonderful self now. I concur that someone at Ain-Shams must have been totally asleep at the switch. Or got a payoff. Or something.

No wonder there is so many diploma mills, issuing a few k pieces of papers at a few k each equals a few millions easily! Quick ROI!

I second you guys that it is Ain-Shams fault. Now the article I referred to earlier was trying in an indirect way to say that Ain Shams knew about it and is involved or at least has something to do with the scam.

Because as per the agreement between the two schools, it is clearly stated that of the MBA cost of $3,350/student, Ain Shams gets a commission of $1,100 and the rest goes to Westbrook....Same thing for the DBA cost of $4,600 where $1,500 goes to Ain Shams and the rest to Westbrook.

Now if we assume that the 1,232 students were all MBA students and paid the cost of $3,350 upfront, it will add up to a grand total of $4.1Mn which I think is a substantial amount of money. And therefor, I suggest that we start a school from this forum :)) j/K :p

That's not a bad idea. In fact, this post can be the university. It already boasts multiple accreditations:
