My daughter graduated from Minnesota Statte University in Dec 2008. She as a BS in Automotive Engineering Technology (ABET Accredited) and a minor in Manufacturing Engineering Technology. Because of the downturn, etc she currently works in retail.

She now wants to work on a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I do not think are are any online programs that exist for this degree (i'm guessing because of the lab work that is usually required).

Can any of you think of any online programs (in anything) that she can works towards that can help her? She has mentioned Biomedical Engineering lately as a possibility?

Also, my future son-in-law (2 weeks) wants to obtain a BS in Accounting. He has been taking online courses through a community college in Minnesota. He wants to make the switch starting this fall to finish his BS in Accounting online. He receives no tuition reimbursement through his employer so he will have to foot the bill on his own. I mentioned Columbia College to him. Also the University of Minnesota at Crookston is starting an online program this fall in Accounting. I think he should receive his first direct from a school that has both online classes and an established history.

    Thanks,
    Dave

The civil or chemical engineering degree would give her a terrific combo with new fields to look for employment in including energy, civil engineering, and water resources.

She might be able to find a masters degree in engineering - they are plentiful.
