So I've been doing some cleanup of the forums and reorganizing things, and came across a gem. Long-time readers will remember Sheila Danzig, the self-described "Queen of the Internet" who has a long history of running various questionable, unethical, and blatantly illegal operations. One of her more colorful operations was the Monterey Institute for Graduate Studies, a mostly non-existent school, offering online Ph.Ds that allowed a lot of "prior learning", l with rented accreditation from a community college in Mexico that offered no doctoral education. The MIGS website was plagued with many questionable things, including ads for another Sheila operation, "doorknob.com", an ad for a (Sheila-operated) term paper writing service, and... the best of all... Free macarena lessons So I thought a few long-tjme readers might enjoy.
Wow, there is not enough character space in the world for me to insert just as many emoticons that this deserves. Well, at least they were free. It took me 10 seconds to learn the macarena when I was a kid- that is, the length of time it takes to watch the whole dance once, and also about 8 seconds longer than it held my interest. I can 100% honestly say that I hated it even when all the cool kids were doing it. it reminds me of the Brian Regan pop tart routine "Insert pastry... vertically?!?!?!"
I think the graphic originally played much slower, because it was produced back in 2001, when computers had much slower processors. I remember being able to see each move individually a lot more easily.
Playboy - Here's reason to remember the macarena ever existed #pbcasting - TwitVid playboy open tryouts no nudity yes, it is related to the macarena
Sheila Danzig is going wtf? Why is my macarena page getting all these hits. In a few weeks we will see some google ads on there.
That name is awfully close to Monterey Institute for Technology and Education, and Monterey Institute of International Studies. Just how many Monterey Institutes are out there? And sheesh. I do NOT miss the Macarena. (Which? They still try to get the crowds to do in front of the concert stage in Tomorrowland at Disney.... We were there just a few weeks ago and could hear the music blasting when we got in line for Space Mountain.)
