Below is a question and answer question form the Western Carolina University website about their online Master in Project Management Degree. Will the degree I receive from Western be respected and recognized in my industry and by other academic institutions? Yes. You will receive a Master of Project Management (MPM) degree from a university accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) in AASCB-accredited College of Business. The MPM Program itself is accredited under the PMI’s Global Accreditation Center. It look's like the College of Buisness is AASCB accredited. The question I have would a diploma and or transcript from an AASCB accredited school usually have a seal or other designated AASCB stamp on the diploma or transcript? Thanks, Dave
Hi Dave, Welcome to the DI Board. Are you asking about AASCB or AACSB? The AACSB is a legitimate accreditation and the AASCB is some sort of international accreditation. I personally wouldn't trust that. There are a lot of "international" accreditations that are fake. I don't know if this one is or not, but it is of much less value than the AACSB. The AACSB is the gold standard by which business schools are recognized. I would go with a school that has good solid accreditation because there are a lot of frauds out there. You want regional accreditation for the entire school and ACBSP or even better, AACSB accreditation for the business school.
The University has both RA and AACSB accreditation. I see no reason why your degree would be disrespected by anyone.
I assume. AACSB. The school is Western Carolina University. They must have a typo in their FAQ. See the copy and paste below from the school.
