I recently moved to NC from CA where I completed a Masters in Counseling Psychology. However, NC requirements for a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) have coursework requirements not required in CA. Does anyone knows of an online course that meets the NC LPC Licensing Board's requirements below:

    Career, Vocational, Lifestyle Development
shall include studies that provide a broad understanding of career development theories and decision-making models as well as career and educational planning, placement, follow-up, and evaluation. The coursework will provide career, vocational, educational, occupational and labor market information resources. The coursework will enhance student awareness of career information systems; assessment instruments and techniques, and career counseling processes, techniques, and resources, including those applicable to specific populations in a global economy. The coursework will prepare students for career development program planning, organization, implementation, administration, and evaluation. The coursework will increase the knowledge of the interrelationships among and between work, family, and other life roles and factors, including the role of multicultural issues in career development.

It's an eight-week course, so you could finish quickly.

Check with Liberty. They have a program that I am beginning in the fall that meets NCs requirements and you can take individual courses but I don't know if that course would have some pre-reqs or what but would be good to check.

I am happy to say that I just found out yesterday that Alliant University offers online CEU's (discounted rate) for those classes that an MFT might not have had who wants to get the LPC in CA (classes in career, research, etc.).
The classes appear to be easy to buy and complete and are accepted by the CA board. I assume that other states would take these classes as well as the content is correct, the university is legitimate and you receive proper sealed transcript envelopes after you complete the class. There may be hope........ RMM
