Please Welcome our New Moderators
It's been a while since we've added new moderators and with the post traffic (as well as the spammer traffic) increasing, it will be helpful to have some additional help in ensuring that moderated posts get approved more quickly and questions and problems get resolved.
So... Please show your appreciation for
Ted Heiks
Airtorn
MichaelOliver
Maniac Craniac
who have all agreed to help out with moderation responsibilities.
DegreeInfo relies on the volunteer moderators to help keep the site spam-free and (relatively) flame-free, and to keep things organized.
I and the rest of the team really appreciate the help of not only our newest moderators, but particularly Kizmet, who has almost single-handedly kept things well organized, Randell, who has helped out quite a bit, and Bruce, who has been a moderator since the site first opened.
Their generous help is very much appreciated! -

Thanks Chip. I really enjoy this site and I'm happy to make a contribution by helping to maintain its integrity. Hopefully, the new moderators can help to mitigate flaming and spamming issues, speed up the approval process for new members and insure that this is a great experience for everyone. Be satisfied with what you have, but never be satisfied with what you are. -
Hey! wasn't my resume good enough? (Actually, I'm too partisan and vociferous to be a moderator--no "moderate" in me. And I didn't even know the role was being expanded. No matter....)
Congratulations to all, and thanks for helping with the heavy lifting! -

First post here, lurking for a while. Congrats to the new moderators but I am surprised that such new people were chosen, very different than all of the other boards that I visit where only people that have years of proven contributions are chosen. Anyway, I have seen many great posts from Maniac Craniac and MichaelOliver (haven't read much of the other two) and am sure everyone will contribute positively to the forum. -

If you REALLY want, we can go ahead and make Rich a moderator
Thanks for making your way out of the shadows. Please post some more, the community would appreciate your contributions* :)

Are you suggesting that I don't have years of proven contributions after a mere five years on this board? Theo the Educated Derelict

*This is the first moderator-ish thing that I have posted... WHOO!!!!! I am sure you have seen some of my posts on a similar website, I just chose to lurk here. I thought I had registered a long time ago but I went to reply to a question the other day and realized I never did. -

Originally Posted by Ted Heiks Are you suggesting that I don't have years of proven contributions after a mere five years on this board? No but if I didn't write it I would probably take that away from what I wrote as well. You fall into the criteria of what most Moderators on various websites I have visited meet (long time member, large post count, I assume proven contributions). I just haven't seen a lot of your posts for whatever reason. I lurk for specific stuff and maybe you have managed to not post in those specific threads. I have managed to see Maniac and MichaelOliver's posts over and over, especially recently. Maybe they were gearing up for their Moderator knighting :-).
ETA: Also, what is the post count for not having to have every post approved by a moderator? I am contributing here but am being held back :-). -
