I am 6 credits away from my BA and need to take a math class. I have decided to take a crack at the CLEP College Math. The only problem is, I am a military spouse living overseas and they only had the 4th edition (2000) at the library.

All of the reviews I have read suggests that Cracking the CLEP is possibly the best study guide and so with my very limited aptitude for math (literally break out in a cold sweat), I would be very grateful to know if I'm wasting my time studying "old" material - or if it really doesn't matter.

I would like to take the exam on Friday, I have been studying for about 2 weeks now, using REA and a few online sites. The Cracking the Clep book does great at explaining the answers. Much appreciated.

    TEKMAN Semper Fi!

Use InstantCert only $20.00/month if you cancel within 30 days, you'll get your money back. Your spouse can access DoD MWR.

Thanks, Tekman. I have used that DoD site and although it has helped me a lot with other exams, its not doing it for math. It seems as though most members here are in agreement that Cracking the Clep is best, so I would like to stick with this book.

Maybe I'll hold off taking the exam and purchase the newer edition - I will just have to wait for them to ship it to me out here...another 10-14 days!

You could ask your college if they'll accept credit from ALEKS. They're ACE-approved and might be better for the math impaired. They're $20/month but if you finish it in less than a month you can cancel before the second $20 is billed. You can also try it for 3 hours for free to at least get a feel for the delivery before you buy it. Just make sure you pick an ACE-approved course, and check with your school that they'll accept it. Good luck!
