Anyone know of any online courses for beginning French that would transfer to a 4-year university?

Several are available from California CCs.
    Check the electronic catalog
    California Virtual Campus
I've heard positive comments about Cerro Coso

Although tuition is somewhat high for non-residents.

Rio Salado offers Elementary I&II and Intermediate I&II, however if you don't live in Arizona it is around $215/credit hour, which is pricey for a community college.

Thanks! For that price, I may just suck it up and take it at my B&M! :p

Would you be interested in taking the CLEP exam? $100 for 12 credits is the best you will ever find. I'm planning on taking it this month.

Take it at Southern Union. It's close to Auburn (I'm assuming by your screen name and location that you're an Auburn student), inexpensive and typically easier than the same course at AU. I know a lot of people at AU that did their foreign language requirements that way.

Really? Yes, I'm at Auburn and tried to take it last semester on campus and it was just too much. Thanks.
