I enrolled in Clovis today; looks like they are going to take all of PF classes minus the 1 credit ones. With some other credit I have only leaves me with about 15-20 hours I will need. I now just have to wait for the official transcripts to be sent in, we are working off the copies I had. I am going to take American History to 1865 and Females in Religion. That’s 6 hours there in 8 weeks and then I will take four classes the fall term for 12 more if I need that much. Thanks to all who pushed me this way. Their AGS is wide open with the exception of a few Gen Ed classes (4 in total) that I already have. It makes me wonder why many others do not use Clovis to finish their degrees.

Good work. Will you receive an AA or AS from Clovis?

Excellent. Do you plan on going for a Bachelors degree after you finish?

Associate of General Studies (AGS), I am not sure how other schools might take it when I apply for a BS program though.

I plan on it, not sure where. TESC is top of my list, I have to get over my fear of clep testing first.

I had to drop my History class, it was campus based and not online...lol so now I am taking Intro to CJ. Can anyone who has attended Clovis tell me a little about what it was like?

Congrats, and good luck- you should get good value for your money there from what I have heard about the school.

I am going to attend clovis in summer and fall myself to finish up a few lower division I need for my bachelors (choose to pay their price instead of 400 per credit hour). With that said I thought I remembered that history class being online as well for either summer or fall? We will be in the religion class together :)

NICE! I'm happy you found something that works for you. I will be enrolling soon for the fall semester, probably only to take a 2 or 3 classes, but they are a tremendous deal. That they accepted PF credits is great news for you, and I look forward to hearing about your progress!!!

My thoughts exactly, it could be the absolute worst collegiate experience of my life... but OMG, I can actually afford it!!!

I called my wife and told her to start feeding the kids, she seems happy! No one call CPS that was a joke...:)

Congrats on enrolling in Clovis. I'm jealous. :( My financial aid was denied.

What I didn't realize - federal fin aid counts all attempted credits - withdrawals (after the allowed drop period), incompletes - and my incompletes that turned to F's - are all counted. So that means I was denied. Sad to say I can't even afford that low cost... I could appeal, but it makes more sense for me to apply to a four year college.

Throws my plans in a loop, though. Not sure what to do right now.

But this is good for you guys - I wish I had known about this years ago - I could have saved myself considerable loan money!

    Clovis info

My two oldest children enrolled in courses at Clovis. They completed the following courses:

    Into to Criminal Justice

Biology for Gen Ed w/Lab (both children)

    Chem for Gen Ed w/Lab

    Basic Algebra II

    Intermediate Algebra

    College Algebra

    Plane Trigonometry

Their teachers had a good grasp of how to teach online, gave good feedback, etc. The customer service at Clovis is top notch; if you have questions - pick up the phone or e-mail.

FYI - My son enjoyed the Criminal Justice course. Enjoy.

I would ask the FA office what you would have to do to get FA in the future. If you can get 12 credits or so of "good work" then an appeal will make sense.
