Hello everyone, long time reader, first time poster. This is my predicament. I have been accepted at both Penn State's online MPS in Human Resources and at Florida International University's online corporate MBA. Now my question is which program should I go to? I know an MBA will probably offer more benefits than an MPS in HR, however, the Penn State pedigree is hard to miss. I'm interested in human resources as a career field, however, I want to move to upper management sometime in my career, my question is which degree will offer that opportunity down the road, to move to upper management that is, the MBA or the MPS in HR? Thank you!

Having seen this question asked a million times on the SHRM website, the general consensus is to get the MBA, and then follow that up with PHR or SPHR certification if you want to work in HR.
