For those interested in earning a regionally accredited PhD via distance learning, consider the following two schools, which are reputable brick-and-mortar institutions:

Indiana Tech - PhD in Global Leadership
    One Thursday-Sunday residence per year
    Link

Regent University - PhD in Organizational Leadership
A total of three Monday-Saturday residences

Does anyone have any comments or experience with these programs?

Indiana Tech - they are B&M, but I am not sure how much cred you will get from them. Maybe better than UoP, but not by much.

fyi - I live in Indy and one of my degrees is from UoP.

Honestly I would choose Indiana Institute of Technology over University of Phoenix, Northcentral University, Walden University, Capella University, Jones International University because it has a ground campus. Also, at least the school is regional accredited and has 80 years standing.

As far as Regent University...I have been looking at the program for awhile, and possible want to apply for next summer. I received a broschure from the university itself, and it seems to be very competitive. The program is cohort....A National Teir 4 school is not a bad school at all.

My advisor for my masters just graduated from Regent in Org. Leadership. He said it was a rigorous program and not cheap. sorry I can't help more.

I am still looking at Regent too; they are very competitive and very rigorous. One of my professors is a Regent grad and he gave me glimpse into what they expect by sharing his dissertation and a few of his class papers. However, he claims it is a doable program if you are dedicated just like you would need for any other PhD program. I am considering Regent's PhD or DSL and Univ of LaVerne's DPA.

Indiana Tech has a great price though at $595 per credit...........

The school has a much better reputation in the Fort Wayne area than it does in the Indy area. I think the few folks in Indy who are even aware of Indiana Tech would be shocked to learn that it has a "regular" campus in Fort Wayne complete with dorms, intercollegiate athletics, etc.

Has anyone formulated the impression that Regent's PhD program is more difficult than the program at Northcentral, Walden, or Capella? Or do you believe that all of the PhD programs are equally difficult, more or less?

    Jay,

If you want to do DSL, you need to contact Verizon. lol:eek: Just curious, why don't you consider Valdosta State University's DPA instead LaVerne's? It is cheaper....

Tekman: I have considered Valdosta State but I kinda think I want an "on-campus" program. La Verne's program requires on-campus classes three weekends per semester. But as my signature line says, I cam mot make up my mind! :)

    How about Argosy?

I can't speak about the other two, but the PhD program at NCU is brutal. The amount of writing is insane.

I would guess that they are all about the same.

I have looked at Argosy but live too far from any of their campus sites to attend once a week.

I could do online with them but........

I wonder if anyone has contacted any of the advanced-standing students at Indiana Tech to give many of us considering enrolling in it some insight into what it is like in the program. Has anyone some knowledge of Bellevue University's PhD in Human Capital Management. Look pretty good. Someone please write about it!

Especially since it seems to connect the worlds of education and business, that one's always looked interesting to me as well. I don't recall how much it costs, though.
