    Hi,

I was just reading the entry requirements at Athabasca University (https://www.mba.athabascau.ca/titanweb/au/webcms.nsf/AllDoc/AE2B75971096593B8725756F00033B7D?OpenDocument):

    *
an undergraduate degree from an accredited university and at least three years of managerial experience,
    or
    *
an accepted professional designation and at least five years of managerial experience,
    or
    *
a minimum of eight to ten years of substantial managerial experience*

Some of professional designation under second bullet they require 2 yrs college, nothing more.

So basically you can do an MBA without undergraduate degree and at the same University after you complete MBA you can enroll into DBA. Requirements for DBA are to have MBA.

To get a doctorate degree without undergraduate seems strange to me.

    What's your thought?

    Thanks,

Heriot Watt MBA is available for decades and one can enter without the undergraduate degree.

I think you need Undergraduate degree and Masters degree whn applying to Doctoral or Ph.D.

    I could be wrong.

Wow, $ 43,500.00 in Canadian dollars which is about $40,000 US. Is this a good school or are they just high? Lamar University in Texas has a MBA for less then $5,000. So its just hard for me to think of having to spend more than that. Heck Milpark is $12,000. Is Lamar just not a good school?

well if you check the third option without college or undergraduate the requirements are to complete "Online Graduate Diploma in Management" which costs $18,100.00.

Then you go to MBA to pay another $43,500.00.

It IS quite expensive. There certainly are many cheaper options available to most people. But, keep in mind that a bachelor's degree is not required for entry. So, subtract from that $40k the cost of doing a normal 120credit bachelors and the cost may not seem as high.

From what I've heard, Athabasca is a well-regarded school, but I don't think it would be considered among the very best.

I wonder if there are other options like Athabasca to do MBA's or other master's degrees without having a bachelors? That would be an interesting list to compile if there are other options out there ...

Given that it's Athabasca, which is considered the fourth of the "big 3" and has never had much presence or visibility as far as marketing or advertising, I would doubt it's shilling. Also, looking at the poster's history, I don't see any pattern indicating spamming activity.

I appreciate that everyone is sensitive to spamming, particularly given the increased influx of attempted spammers on this board (to give you an idea, our newly installed automated spam detection tool has blocked over 200 attempted registrations in the past 72 hours since it was installed).

But... we also don't want to discourage new posters from asking questions and feeling welcomed here. So if you have a question, please flag the post, which alerts the mod team, and let us take care of it rather than making accusations in the threads.

    Thanks much!

"Lamar University's MBA is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)." However, I don't believe their MBA is available online (?).

Sorry, it was not intended as an accusation, just a call for consensus. I have not heard of the school and the website link had some sort of odd error message. My apologies.

Lamar is a well know teachers college here in Texas. They pride themselves on keeping tuition low because their primary program is education, and as we all know K-12 teachers are never going to be wealthy from their profession.
