I have been following the development of an online/limited residency "pure" criminal justice doctorate for some time. Nova Southeastern has been promising a dedicated CJ curriculum for at least 2 years. Last week, I found this description at their Criminal Justice Institute homepage under Featured Program:

"The Ph.D. in Criminal Justice trains individuals through an interdisciplinary focus in an online environment. The program prepares students through the core curriculum and allows for specialty training through various tracks. The Ph.D. in Criminal Justice opens opportunity in areas of research, academia, and management to those who are ready to advance as well as to individuals considering a career change.

The program facilitates choice for students and fosters the development of specialized expertise. The Ph.D. in Criminal Justice requires successful completion of sixty credit hours that includes core courses, specialty track courses and dissertation. This program is pending review and approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools."(Criminal Justice Institute | Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale-Davie, Florida | Online Programs)

I emailed the Institute on several occassions to no avail regarding an anticipated approval date and proposed curriculum. I also checked with SACS and they had no information posted. I know there are several people on the boards who showed prior interest in this program. Has anyone had better luck tracking down specifics?
