I've completed my application to Penn State and I'm ready to go except I can't choose between the Public Health Preparedness and the Agricultural Biosecurity options. I have a good idea what career options are ahead of me but I'm sure I'm missing a few. I'm also curious what you guys think would be more desirable in the job market. Here is a link to the site with the options---> Penn State | Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security | Program Options

I know with the PHP option there would be a need in the medical field but public health also covers any place where the public might be affected. Ag Bio covers everything that has to do with the protection of our food source so there will always be a need for this as well. What do you think would be some specific career options? Would the PHP option be too similar to an MPH? As always thank you for your input.

No. The curriculum is nothing like a standard MPH.

I have a standard MPH and look at the PHP program as a nice complement to it and not as a replacement.

Thanks. That is an important questions I needed an answer to. The utility of the degree is my main concern because I try and prepare for the future. While I have no intention of leaving my current employer I want to know that I can utilize the degree for that exact reason. Both of these options have big positives and after revewing their curriculums I would enjoy either one. It may honestly come down to a coin flip which just sounds absurd to me.
