I have already done three years of research into the 'Career Development of Adult Returners to Education', but did not register for a doctorate as at the time I did not know how the research would develop.

Therefore, does anyone know a university where I could register and submit the research for a doctorate without starting the process again.

    Thanks

Most, in fact all institutions in the United States require course work before researching. The best way to go is Australian and British institutions; most of them have research base degree. Therefore, you can use whatever you have done for the degree. If you published your researches, then it maybe not a good idea to use it for your Doctoral degree. Some would treat it as cheating...
