A friend of mine is many credits into her doctoral degree and she wishes to transfer to a university, online. Without knowing all the details, I've mentioned to her that I doubt any school would accept all or most all of her credits, this late in the game. I know my school; Argosy would not. I believe she is almost finished with her studies. I’m not sure I remember the reason she wishes to swap school, since I have my own issues to navigate through, but I promised her that I’d help her search, if only just to confirm my thoughts. I believe I posted a similar question to this board for her before, however, after combing through this forum, I have given up. If anyone has better luck locating it, please post the link for me. I know that the amount of credit a student transfers in depends upon the program and other institutional factors. However, I’d like to know if there are any accredited (regionally) online universities out there that might accept a transfer student with many credits? Could be international, as well. I don’t think she minds.

For my input is a big "NO." Most of the schools on accept Master level credits part of the curriculum. Hope others can help!

Thanks. I figured as much. Just wanted to be 100% sure.

How many credits and in what subject? Some doctoral programs in education, like that from Liberty University, will accept an EdS in transfer as up to 30 credits. Perhaps that means that they'd accept that much doctoral level transfer credit? Asking is free....

Did she pass her quals? If so, then she will have to take them over again at the new school. If not, then it is basically an issue of how many credits in what subjects they will take. This not only varies by school, but also by department.
