Hello Everyone, I was trying to search for information on GI Bill and UK or Australian distance learning; however, couldn't get any luck. Does anybody have experience on using GI Bill (Montgomery GI Bill or Post 9/11 GI Bill) at any UK or Australian institutions? Thanks!!
Hi Tekman, I have recently been looking into this for my own information and what I have found out is that the foreign institution has to be accredited by a US accrediting agency. There is further information about this on the GI Bill website and I'll give you the direct link to it in a separate post as I have found that anytime I include a link my posts take awhile to come through (or just disappear altogether!). Good luck!

Hi Tekman, I have tried to reply to your post but it has not worked. Feel free to PM me if you want to know what I said.
First-time poster here (but longtime lurker). I tried to do this with the University of Leicester in the UK but was told that the VA will not certify distance learning programs at foreign universities, which is too bad because that would open up myriad opportunities. The overseas schools in the VA database were approved for traditional attendance.
Hi Muaranah, On the first page I linked to above it says "NOTE: Independent study (distance learning) courses must be accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting association." so maybe they have changed their policy?
Thanks Jodied, So only Lansbridge University (Canada), and Deakin University (Australia) are supported by the VA? I think Athabasca University is U.S regional accredited school.
No worries Tekman. Perhaps they just haven't applied. You not only have to be accredited, you also have to go through the process of getting approved for the GI Bill.
Could be. The next time I am in my university email I will fish out the email from last fall where they told me it was not possible through them.
