f2f science vs distance learning science?

Has anyone taken a lab science in the classroom and via distance learning? I'm looking for some feedback on what to expect as far as level of difficulty.

I've done 6 DL sciences now (intro bio, intro chem, nutrition, ap 1, ap2, microbiology) and frankly, I'm wanting a change of pace. My ap 2 class was as close to hell as anything I can imagine. I'm considering spending fall semester on campus, but it's just so. much. time. in that building. But, I'm considering it because I get the feeling on campus classes are more focused (due to lectures). I have felt like my last few classes have been too vast...thoughts?

AP2 is a very difficult class. I don't really think taking it on class would make it any easier. Either way there still would be a huge amount of individual studying that would need to be done. On the other hand, taking classes on-campus might not make one feel so isolated, and that might make things feel less tedious.

My AP2 was maybe the hardest class I have ever taken. My highest score between 10 open book mc quizzes was a 90, and my highest score between 4 open book exams was 88  I still earned an A, but really anything in that system was subject to testing- whether or not it was in our book was irrelevant (which she told us on day 1). I'm not an idiot, but that class made me feel like one. :) I'm glad to be out of there!!
The reason I asked about f2f is because I have a handful of friends/family who have done the sciences in class and used words like "easy" or "fun" which makes me think they attended them on another planet! My sil (whom I love) isn't a good student, and earned "A"s in both her f2f APs - which leaves me stunned....and asking "where do I sign up?"

My friend is looking to go to nursing school and just had to take all those classes at a local community college in a f2f environment. She said it was the hardest studying she has ever done (and she has a BS degree already from the U of Florida). I think you'll find it will depend on the school. At Penn State, those classes are considered "weed out" classes for those entering the program and were really hard there as well. Did your SIL take the same exact classes? Sometimes they offer science classes for non-science majors which are 10x easier but wouldn't work in your situation.

I thought she did because she talked about AP2. For the non-science major AP, it is generally only 1 semester and has a title like "Essentials of...." or such....but honestly, she could have been talking about the second half of the semester and calling it AP2 knowing her  She told me that my last quiz (Female/male repro systems) was the easiest system (!?) and this is coming from a woman who didn't know what ovulation was. See why this is making me crazy??
If I can get the $ asap, I'm going to take the summer session of organic chem 1 from the University of New England's Med school. It's online. If it's as bad/worse, then I'm done accumulating science credits lol. If it's ok, then I'm going to keep going until I reach my level of inadequacy. (Peter Principle!)

    Nothing about sience is easy

I love science, when I finish my Natural Science exam I will have 45 science credits. I would not call any of them easy.
I have a friend who is doing her nursing prereqs at the local CC she has a BA from East Strousberg U a fairly respectable B & M. She said A&P 2 was her most difficult course.

I think Organic chem 2 was my most difficult. I am sure you will find Org. Chem 1 demanding, but I think you can do it. Let me know if I can help. I hope you are not taking much if anything else at the same time.

    Linda,
That class is indy study with a 16 week suggested completion- they allow an extension (which I don't want) but I will have about 9 weeks to devote only to the course. After that, I'm in an EMT class 2x per week. So, worst case, is a small overlap near the end.

This discussion is making me very glad that I decided to take AP1 in the summer and AP2 in the fall. It sounds like a condensed summer schedule would make that class even more difficult!

Tiffer, where are you taking your classes? Are they DL?
