I read the information you provided me in my last thread. Information is beginning to come together -- accredited vs non-accredited schools, etc. I also watched the PBS special, College, Inc., last night.

Here are the majority of my grades minus the -Fs- and -Ds-, and Advanced Psychology courses PSU is holding for ransom because I owe them money.

    Fundamentals of 2-Dimensional Design -C-
    Fundamentals of 3-Dimensional Design -C-
    Computer Graphics -C-
    Drawing I -B-
    English Comp I -C-
    English Comp II -B-
    Beginning Algebra -A-
    Intermediate Algebra -B-
    Effective Speaking I -B-
    Philosophy -A-
    Typewriting I -B-
Career Development & Decision Making -C-
    Indoor/Outdoor Rock Climbing -A-
And, oh my, a bunch of -Fs- and -Ds-

I'd like to get my Undergraduate in Business Administration. I was thinking, because I'm nowhere near organized with a plan, so not to waste anymore time, I could start taking some CLEP tests. Based on my accumulated classes above, and anticipated Advanced Psychology courses, any suggestions on some "safe" CLEP/DSST tests to take for a Bus. Adm. major?

Thanks for your time and support,
    Heather

I'm checking out course guidelines for various schools suggested by posters. What is the difference between a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration? In my Psychology major days(forever ago!), I just knew to avoid BA degrees like the plague because they required 9 credit hours of a foreign language! Although... I'd take ASL as my foreign language if it were offered anywhere, and the credits were guaranteed to transfer, if I transferred<<<Don't want to close any doors until I figure out my plan. :)

It appears I can CLEP test for the required computer class(es), but no other classes are popping out at me. :( Looks like I have a plethora of business courses to take! I need to get started fast! I want to finish my undergraduate by January! again! <hyper-ventilating>

There are a few business related CLEP- marketing, economy, etc. It might help to look at a few different schools' undergraduate catalogs and see what requirements are generally needed for a business degree. Also, DSSTs are similar to CLEP, cost about the same, and have several business exams you can take. ECEs are more expensive, but will help fill gaps that CLEP and DSSTs don't. There are people here (for example, bazonkers) who have a BS in Business using nothing (or almost nothing) but exams to fill their major requirements- so the tests ARE out there and you can start taking them now.

These days at many universities the difference between the BA and BS is more related to either the academic area or the number of free electives.

I did an analysis of your credits (assuming they were all 3-unit courses) towards an Excelsior AS in Business (ASB) or an AS in Liberal Studies (ASLS).
For the ASB you need 30 more units and for the ASLS you only need 1 unit. If I was looking for a degree I would go for the ASLS then obtain the 60 additional units to meet the bachelor degree in business requirements. Although it is theoretically possible I suspect that obtaining a BSBA by next January is highy optimistic.
If you would like me to send you my analysis PM me with an email address.
