Greetings...below I have posted TESC's BSHS courses I have remaining.
On at least three I have been able to find equivelants (SOC-322, SOS-440, SOS-492)

Does anyone know of other courses that would satisfy requirements for these. I have also listed EC 8 week courses, but have no idea if they would fit the bill. Also, how would one go about matching courses against others like the EC's listed below to determine if they would?

    1. HLS-355 Critical Thinking for Homeland Security- Offers an overview of critical thinking and its applications in the homeland security context. The focus is on essential elements of thought, asking the right questions, uncovering fallacies in reasoning and statistical misrepresentations. Evidence evaluation in a homeland security setting is featured with several examples interpreting real-world information. Nothing found to date!

    2. SOC-322 Cultural Diversity in the US- Examines racial, ethnic, sexual, religious and other minority groups in American society. The course explores the impact of law and policy on these groups and promotes an understanding of individuals from diverse backgrounds. … ECE Cultural Diversity

    3. SOS-440 Terrorism- This course covers the phenomenon of terrorism as explored along thematic and chronological lines that focus mainly on the American experience and perspective. The course delves into the evolution of terrorism, its impact on U.S. domestic and foreign policies, some pertinent international dimensions, and the prospects for nonconventional terrorism in the future. ... Soupbone previously posted that Penn Foster has a course equivelant

    4. HLS-420 Homeland Security: Preparedness, Prevention and Deterrence- This course focuses on how strategic planning, incident control systems, and intelligence techniques combine to provide the necessary foundation for anti-terrorism and emergency preparedness. Topics covered include infrastructure protection, National Incident Management System, threat and vulnerability assessments, information sharing, resource planning, and other issues relating to terrorism prevention and deterrence. Nothing found to date!

    5. HLS-429 Protecting the Homeland —Response and Deterrence- This course focuses on processes, procedures and available resources in responding to and guiding recovery from disaster events. Topics covered include planning, leadership, technology, information gathering, coordination, communication, and other issues relating to response and recovery from disaster and terrorism scenarios. Nothing found!

    6. SOS-492 Research Methods in the Social Sciences- An introduction to the research methods used in the social sciences. The course provides examples of research studies that employ a variety of research techniques, and it fosters an understanding of the knowledge these studies have produced. … ECE Research Methods in Psych

    7. HLS-498 Homeland Security Capstone- This course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills that they have acquired in their academic program. Students will be guided through a process that includes self-reflection on their studies within the discipline of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and the selection of a topic that will become the basis of their paper. That paper will demonstrate a critical examination and evaluation of their selected issue/s; students will incorporate key terms, concepts, and issues and historical and current theoretical concepts of their topic area into their final paper. Students will produce a final paper that truly reflects the depth and breadth of the knowledge acquired while completing their Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness degree requirements at Thomas Edison State College. Realize this is a must take!!!

    EC Courses:
    1. CJ-350 International Terrorism
    2. CJ 352 Domestic Terrorism
    3. CJ 354 Managing Homeland Security
    4. CJ 355 Analyzing Intelligence Terrorism and National Security
    5. CJ 380 Ethics in Criminal Justice
    6. CJ 450 Counter Terrorism
    7. CJ 452 Security Planning and Assessment
    8. CJ 454 Terrorism in the 21st Century
    9. CJ 456 Bio Terrorism

And of course my reasoning is TESC courses are a full 12 weeks...looking for shorter options, 8 weeks or less.

Lastly, if all else fails does anyone know which TESC course delivery methods are the quickest to complete...Thanks all in advance

TESC courses run a full 12 weeks but honestly they flew by. You also have the convenient fact that they start at the beginning of each month so you can pretty much start shortly after you decide what your path is. I took 18 hours for my final semester there and it was manageable. I did this while testing out of 33 credits too. I had no life but it was worth it in order to meet my personally set deadline.

My personal opinion is that TESC doesn't have any course equivalents so that you can take your last semester with them. This degree has only existed for a few years and I believe they are experimenting to see if people will take this path because it accepts less credits in testing out, course equivalents, etc. This may be their new degree model while still allowing a generous transfer policy. However, this is only my opinion. Good luck with your studies!
