Argosy University has announced some interesting changes. Below are highlights:

Western State University College of Law (ABA and WASC accredited) will become part of Argosy University and will be known as the Western State College of Law of Argosy University. (Western State is owned by EDMC, the parent organization of Argosy University).

Argosy will establish a college of art and design by merging the eight Art Institute campuses in California into a single entity. It will be known as the Art Institute of California, a College of Argosy University. (The Art Institute is owned by EDMC, the parent organization of Argosy University).

Argosy University will seek regional accreditation from the Commission on Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Argosy will continue to be accredited by its current regional accrediting association (North Central Association) after which time it will transition to WASC.

One more note - South University (owned by EDMC) requires AACSB accreditied PhDs to teach as full time online instructors for the business program. Could they be going for AACSB?

I know that Argosy is currently a candidate for ACBSP accreditation.

Once these announced changes are completed, Argosy will consist of an ABA accredited Law School, in addition to its current APA accredited Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (at those specific campuses), and possibly, an ACBSP accredited College of Business.

I would better if Argosy University change their DBA to Ph.D in Business Administration.

I am a current student at South University and have been pleased with my program. They are trying to lure me into an Argosy doctorate program but anyway. It seems these changes are positive and will add value to the degrees they issue?
