I am looking for a general, overview-type, distance learning course covering industrial agriculture or agribusiness.

    Any suggestions on available programs?

Here are some places where you can look for Ag courses (or even do an entire degree.) These are off the top of my head:

UF has online MSs in Entomology, Soil Science, and Ag Education:

    http://www.distancelearning.ufl.edu/Degrees.aspx

UT-Martin has an online MS in Agriculture and Natural Resource Systems Management (fomerly called Agricultural Operations Management)

    http://www.utm.edu/departments/caas/msanr/

University of London has an online MS in Agricultural Economics.

LSU Independent study had some undergraduate Dairy Science courses

I would also check out Iowa State, Purdue, and other land-grant universities: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_land-grant_universities

'Course' as in individual class, or a whole degree program?

Texas Tech U. in Lubbock has quite a few DL degree programs in Ag subjects at the masters level. They also offer a BS in Horticulture by DL, but aparently some classes (chemistry etc.) have to be taken face-to-face. These may be taken elsewhere and transferred in.

Hi, I am still looking for the elusive Ag undergrad degree that will accept credits from previously obtained undergrad degrees. This is a quest for my daughter who needs this for professional reasons within 12 months. Realistically I do not believe a Masters in Ag can be completed like that. This must be a US -RA school. Any out of the box thinking is appreciated. Hille

if she has previously earned a degree she'll have to at least complete 30 new credits at most schools to earn a second.

most masters programs are 30 credits.

    (kanye shrug)

    CO State has this degree
Degree Requirements and Curriculum - Agricultural Business (B.S.) - Online | Colorado State University Continuing Education
Ask them about earning a second degree - looks like this one will require 30 to 42 units.

CO State also has this M. Agr. degree
Degree Requirements - Agricultural Extension Education Specialization (M.Agr.) - Distance | Colorado State University Continuing Education

Oregon State offers a BA in Agriculture online ... $226/credit:

General Agriculture -- Online & Distance Degrees -- Oregon State University -- Extended Campus -- Ecampus

Re second degrees, they say: "Students with a baccalaureate degree(s) from an accredited institution other than Oregon State University may be granted a baccalaureate degree from OSU upon satisfying the college and departmental requirements of the curriculum represented by the degree." Not sure what that means though o_O
