    Hi,

I graduated from Aspen University in MBA program, and I was planning to start Ph.D or DBA in a RA University.
Does anyone knows an online RA University that accepts Aspen graduated degrees? Of course some University with reasonable price not like Capella which I find very expensive.
I know NCU used to accept Aspen degrees but they stopped in 2009.
    Any idea?
Is there any list of new universities getting Reg. Accreditation(RA)? Because it seems as pattern they in beginning accept NA degrees but after they create a reputation they pull the plug.

    Thanks

    Thanks major56, good start.
I should have mentioned that my interest is in Ph.D or DBA in business.

The President of Aspen, Dr. David Lady, has his PhD from Northcentral University. Dr. Lady has a masters from Aspen.

    Yes, you are right.
I tried NCU and they told me the policies have changed since then, and now don't accept graduate students from NA accreditation Universities. Walden & Capella are priced well in 50k and I am not ready to spend that kind of money.
Southern Columbia University is priced good but they are NA accredited.
Even though to be honest I don't think many people in Canada care for that.
Anyone from Canada having issues with NA accreditation?

CHEA HETA shows that the following institution accepts NA degree.

    - University of Phoenix
    - Argosy University
    - Northcentral University
    - TUI University

And more schools with Campus program. URL: http://www.chea.org/heta/search.asp#ser

    TEKMAN,
    Thanks for CHEA HETA,
    I already approached those schools
The best option from those seems to be TUI.
Argosy University & University of Phoenix go well into 50k.
NCU is refusing, they just changed the rules in 2009.
It seems I have not so many options left.

P.S. Though not a PhD or DBA but ... Nova Southeastern offers an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership (Fischler School of Education and Human Services: “Alternative Admission Requirements – If you have earned a degree at a school that is not accredited by one of the regionally or internationally accrediting associations/universities you must follow our Alternative Admission Requirements to petition for admission into a FSEHS program at NSU.”

    Thanks major56,
I am really leaning more toward a Ph.D or DBA with more emphasis on application on business, and becoming an expert in field than teaching in University of college.Teaching might be a remote option. I don't want to dismiss it, but that's not my major goal when I think about getting Ph.D or DBA.
I like California InterContinental University, DBA in entrepreneurship, but they are very new University, and NA accredited.

That’s understandable. I was just trying to assist you with a RA doctorial program that will possibly accept your NA MBA for admission (seemingly the Nova Southeastern U school of education will) that could provide a related desired business focus. As a side note, the EdD in organizational leadership could be just as applicable to a business specialization as education focus; there is probably little to no dissimilarity in the actual degree designations as viewed by industry. Personally I believe university Colleges/Schools of education are offering the EdD in organizational leadership concentration partially as a strategy to expand the scope and marketplace appeal of the educational doctorate to include fields outside the traditional educational leadership or teaching arena (e.g., business /industry). BTW Nova Southeastern’s school of business administration does offer a DBA (not DL); however, their business college doesn’t seemingly allow admission via a NA masters, e.g., http://www.huizenga.nova.edu/FutureStudents/Doctoral/Admissions.cfm

No. No RA doctoral program (of which I'm aware) will accept an NA MBA as preparation. However, you may find some doctoral programs that only require a bachelors degree. Was this limitation disclosed to you when you started your MBA program?

Sounds like a question (for future discovery) some niche attorney would market on TV while trolling for law suit possibilities. :D

Good point. You may get into a PhD program if your bachelors was RA, but none of the NA credits would transfer towards the PhD program. Essentially, you would have to take an additional 30 or so credits.

Have you investigated the DBA from EBS?
Not RA but it is UK equivalent.

The more I think about this, the more I believe you should discuss your situation with Dr. David Lady, the President of Aspen University. I'd like to believe that as an NCU doctoral alumnus, that Dr. Lady could pick up the phone and ask for an exception to policy. If NCU says no, well, you are right back where you started.

Is this discussion still open? Grand Canyon University is RA has D.B.A and accepts NA credits, I know this because I plan on going there and have asked all of these questions. I have an NA BA degree and going to get an NA MBA. I have contacted them and they stated that my school was in the DOE and CHEA listing and therefore they would accept it. They have 2 residences though, 4 days each time, so it is not 100% online.
