    Hi,
I never new such a amazing way of learning was available I have a few questions.
What would be the best route to get a degree in chemistry? online as fast as possible can i get it from Charter Oak State College,Excelsior College,Thomas Edison State College? I want to get a BS degree in chemistry then a MBA Also want it to be legit. What is the cheapest fastest way to my goal? And approximately how much money you think it will cost me?

All three schools are legit and will award a chemistry degree. None will have all the classes you need for the degree, and you will likely have to take some courses on site at your local college and transfer the credits back. Each schools charge an annual fee to manage your education (advisement and so on). The total cost will depend on the way you earn credits. If you take tests for credit you will save money. You can also save money by taking classes at inexpensive schools, like your local community college. If you want an MBA you can study business and chemistry together at any of the schools. The best step is to read the catalogs. Each of the three has explains their programs very well. I like Excelsior the best (my school), but the other two are also excellent. They are truly legit and you will have a real degree when you finish. Really...you need to download the catalogs and read to know how it will work.

As far as I have found, the only chemistry with labs that exist online for non-matriculated students are:
Intro chem w/lab 4 (many schools)
    Gen chem 1 w/lab 4 (a few schools)
    Gen chem 2 w/lab 4 (a few schools)
    Orgo chem 1 w/lab 4 (about 3 schools)
    Orgo chem 2 w/lab 4 (about 3 schools)
    Biochem w/lab 4 (1 that I know about)

So, you can take all of these and transfer them back to any of the big three true- however, this isn't enough chem to earn a degree. These are ALL considered 100/200 level credit. So, If you want to take these classes online and then enroll in a university, you might have an easier time.

To maximize your dollar and distance learning options, you might consider an AS degree from Thomas Edison State College. Complete the block of chems, get them all on your transcript (it will overflow the requirements, which is fine) and then use CLEP exams to hit your social science and humanities. Take English 1 as a course (distance or f2f) and then get the AS.

The speed of completion is tied to the chem sequence. You can skip intro, and start with Gen Chem 1. It would be 5 semesters HOWEVER the last 3 when taken through the New England University Med school are indy study self paced, so you can do them simultaneously! So, I'd say this is a 3 term sequence.
Fall: Gen 1 (with every CLEP you need) and English 101
    Spring: Gen 2, orgo 1, orgo 2
    Summer: Biochem
    done!

Apply fall start at a university

CLEP costs balance out -somewhat- the exceedingly high cost of online sciences. It is MUCH CHEAPER to take this through a community college, however, your hands are tied, and it's back to a full 6 semesters done that way. So, the cost buys you a year off your plan and the flexibility to do it all at home. The AA done this way with these credits is going to cost you $10k. Done at your community college it will cost you $3k. It comes down to personal preference.

Now, a simple non-science BA through one of the big three will be about $6-7k (the REAL financial deal is with this degree), a non-science AA still closer to $3k.

(are you sure you don't want to study biology? Bio classes abound!)

If you are interested in petrolium engineering perhaps a more appropriate degree would be one in chemical engineering - it would useful in many industries. UND has a good CE degree:

Is this a 4 year program? or can i finish it fast like those other three universities I mentioned. And yes I want a degree in chemistry or petroleum/ chemical for opportunities in the oil/gas realm. of course i want to finish it as fast as possible. within a year. or 4 months. Ive seen people get degree's very quickly of course they prepared and planned it all out. I want to learn how exactly to do this. right now I just have the goal but am ignorant to exactly what the process and tools to achieve it. I don't mean to be a bother and ask so many questions.

UND doesn't take lot of credit banks; therefore, it takes at least 3 years to complete. BTW, where do you live? Even though distance learning, but the location is also a factor for distance learning as well. How many credit you have so far? If you want to finish fast, Charter Oaks State College is the only option.

So I looked over the course and here is the degree requirments.

so in reality I just need to do 30 credits from this university and the rest is a free for all. right?
As far as pricing goes since i'm a Non-Resident the estimation is $830.24/Credit Meaning about 25k for the 30 credits I need.
Anymore universities would be a great help.

I live in Canada I am done my first year in a arts program at Concordia university. But i want to start over in a BS from scratch. Using maybe just my highschool grade 12.

You want to start from scratch, the question is HC? At least you can use the general education to shorten degree progress. Why's not just going for a Master degree? Mybe you have to take some prerequiste as foudation courses.

The only thing I see transferable is my Calculus. I can transfer some credits definetly will save me money. can you recommend me a guide/ how to. for reading and figuring out how this all works. I read one off of http://bain4weeks.com/ the more info the better. I want to Have a plan written from start to finish before I begin.

The fast degrees are ones in liberal arts or business fields, not sciences.

If you have any credit you have a head start. If you want a degree in 4 months, you'll have to do liberal arts or business. The fact that SOME degrees can be shortened, does not mean that ALL degrees can be shortened. However, within the field you want, I showed you how to knock off a year. Some roads are longer- they just are.

    Go to the school websites

All the schools explain the process very clearly. Excelsior's credit-by-examination and catalog booklets tell it all. Here's the link to Excelsior's publications.

There is also a Research and Writing course requirement.

Here's an idea: since Excelsior awards a whopping number of credits for GRE subject scores, you can complete your degree, potentially, much faster with them than anyone else. However, whether you need more courses will depend upon which course requirements are actually met by Excelsior's evaluation of the Chemistry GRE (for example, you still need your labs and some classes in organic and inorganic chemistry). I strongly suggest that you ask them a few questions before you decide on which school you want to go to. Since Charter Oak also grants a bunch (although less than Excelsior) credit for GRE, that could be a great option too. You can check out the requirements for the Chemistry concentration from the plan of study form.

Have looked into the distance degrees offered by Athabascau?
    http://www2.athabascau.ca/programs/undergraduate.php
Maybe the General Studies might fit your needs - you might be able to transfer in your Concordia credit plus you find some petroleum engineering courses to transfer in. If you are in the petroleum or other related energy field then some appropriate geology courses might also be applicable for your degree planning.

"What would be the best route to get a degree in chemistry?"
In class and labs at a B&M.

"online as fast as possible can i get it from Charter Oak State College,Excelsior College,Thomas Edison State College?"
Chemistry requires hands-on in the lab.

"I want to get a BS degree in chemistry then a MBA Also want it to be legit."
Legit is more than just accredited. It also means you understand the concepts.

"What is the cheapest fastest way to my goal?"
Cheapest: first two years at community college. Then transfer to an in-state university.
Fastest: Take as many classes as you can handle all year long. No summer breaks.
Going too fast can hinder understanding. I've heard of some very bright people who completed chem degrees in 3 years. They are the exception.

"And approximately how much money you think it will cost me?"
Check tuition rates in your area. I'm not up on this.

Charter Oak State College requirements for a concentration (not major) in Chemistry

1.A minimum of 39 credits, at the appropriate levels,in the
    following subjects:

    Introductory Chemistry with laboratory................. .....8cr
Organic Chemistry with aboratory (not upper level credits)............................................... 8 cr
Inorganic Chemistry with/without laboratory......... 3/4 cr
    Physical Chemistry with/without laboratory ........... 3/4 cr
Instrumental Analysis with lab ................................... .........4cr
    Calculus ....................................................................6/8 cr
    Physics..........................................................................4 cr
    Capstone.......................................................................3 cr

At least one upper level course in addition to instrumentation must include a laboratory (physical, inorganic, advanced organic or biochemistry).

2.The GRE Subject Test in Chemistry evaluated at 24 credits (40%) (15 lower, 9 upper), plus at least 12 additional credits. Because the GRE does not include any laboratory component, students who use this option are required to complete two upper level laboratory courses; at least one of the these should be a laboratory course in instrumentation unless the student meets this outcome through job experience, plus 3 credit capstone.

Excelsior College Requeriments for a major in Chemistry include:

    1 year of Physics
    1 year of Calculus
Plus 30 credits in Chemistry with a minimun of:
    2 Semester General Chemistry
    2 Semester Organic Chemistry
1 Semester Analytical or Instrumental Chemistry
    1 Semester Physical Chemistry
Chemistry electives to make up 30 credits in Chemistry (15 upper level)

GRE in Chemistry at the 80 % will grant you the necessary 30 credits. In any case yu must include four laboratory courses, one of which must be upper level. This requirement may be waived if work experience is documented.

In both colleges the minimun number of credits necessary for graduation with a bachellor's degree is 120.

A degree in chemistry without doing a lab? LOL. Wow. Ok.
