Well, I guess they've figured out whom to email now. The following literary masterpiece was received this afternoon and is reprinted word-for-word.

"Our University does not claim accreidiation(sic) and does not seek to(sic) scamming anyone into thinking anything other than(sic) it is a degree based on life experience. I ask that the topic Ratchford university(sic)be deleted because the privacy of the university is our selling piont.

    Everything is legal. If it
(sic)is not removed within 48 hours we will be forced to contact our lawyers and pursue legal action.

    Thank you.

    UCI staff

Yes, well... I think the letter speaks for itself. The grammar, spelling and syntax are hardly appropriate for someone on "University staff."

It will be interesting to do a bit more digging on this establishment and post the results here...

I wonder if these bogus schools will *ever* learn?

This guy certainly did a heck of a lot more harm to his "school" by trying to defend his fraudulent program than if they he just shut up and let the post drop to the bottom of the stack.

I wonder how long until Ratchford changes its name to something else? I hear the name MIGS may be coming available soon [IMG]

If Ratchford needs an attorney, I know of a guy in Texas that has experience with DL lawsuits. [IMG]

Yeah, and I'm guessing that he needs the work.

When will these "universities" ever learn? If they had ignored that thread, it is likely we would have forgotten about them by the weekend. But now it seems much more fun to see what we can dig up on them.

Ahh, but are their lawyers authorized to practice in the United States? And will the University of California at Irvine take kindly to ... oh, never mind.

  7. Actually you can still see the site (and compare with Judson Online) at http://www.ratchford-online.org/welcome.htm

Moot question, Chip. The answer is an emphatic NO! Bogus schools are like the drug problem--you bust one, and another one surfaces.

Don't be too quick to criticize the Ratchford University staff for their spelling--they probably have their Ph.D.'s from Ratchford. [IMG]

And I am pleased to report that, thanks to a wonderful new piece of software I recently acquired, the entire site (110 files totalling 10 megs worth of data) has been mirrored and safely preserved forever so that the OH attorney general's office -- and Judson -- will have the opportunity to peruse the site to look for copyright infringement and violations of state law.

If they weren't so pathetic it would really be laughable! (OK... so I'm laughing at them anyways...) [IMG]

I absolutely love this sentence! Are they trying to convey the concept of "buyer beware" (because they feast on the ignorant)?

    (Still laughing... even harder!!!) [IMG]

  12. I see the backdoor is also gone now. But I too have most (maybe all) of the site cached.

I agree: the great leader of University Consulting, Inc., a.k.a. good ol' Ratchford U., started a threat at the Counterfeit Library titled, "So they say a fake degree is a timebomb?"

Likewise, the initial post about Ratchford came from fl5000, who has also posted at CL (and our own Lawrie Miller has posted some stuff about BA in 4 weeks there, too, no doubt in hopes of converting the sinners [IMG] )

    More at http://www.counterfeitlibrary.com/cl/forums/
    and click "Qualifications."

It is really frightening. I just looked at it for the first time. Talk about fraud! One has to wonder if the US Postal Police aren't on this. After all, I read of a couple posts that speak of sending the fake diplomas through the regular mail.

The truth is, it makes me really cautious about people's credentials. I can tell you this: I work for a government agency. The next time I have to do a hire, I will personally check the stuff myself if I have to.

What about logging into DegreeInfo, Ellis? Let's hope the person doing the security clearance check doesn't have a degree from Ratchford. [IMG]
