Several of us have been receiving online information on Must University for advanced degree in psychology. Does anyone have any knowledge of this school?

  2. They are accredited by the IAO. The International Accreditation Organization? Never heard of that one. Smells like a diploma mill to me.

Since this is another new individual posting about an unheard of school, is this the work of a shill? Correct me if I'm wrong.

    I don't think it's a shill, I think it's a legitimate inquiry.

The school is definitely an unwonderful and the accreditor a fake. I remember hearing the name before, so I suspect the "school" has been around a while, but I couldn't easily find it in our archive. Perhaps when I dig out a Bears' Guide I'll check and see if it's listed there.

If you plan to retire early, Must University is for you. In what way? Well, in certain states diploma mill is illegal, and possible jail time for using it. Therefore, you spend time in jail instead working. :D

Would you say this is a good degree to earn while you are in prison? Thanks.

(just kidding, don't answer, sorry I wasted your time, won't do it again ..........) Where do these posts come from?

  8. Familiar

The name of the "school" sounded familiar to me; I was positive that it was on the Oregon list. Lo and Behold, it is:

    http://www.osac.state.or.us/oda/unaccredited.aspx

  9. I must say, however, that they have a very impressive, elaborate website. It not only looks authentic, it is better laid out and includes some nice features that very few accredited/approved schools have. They even advertise something they call a "mobile classroom" which, whether or not they ACTUALLY have one, sounds like a great idea.

More than most of these types of "schools," I can actually see how some people might be reeled in.

Of course, such people would have to overlook:

I trust this degree's accreditation by the IAO even lesser than I trust that the curriculum conforms to standards of accountability.

  10. I MUST remind everyone that you MUST avoid this school. If you pay them, you MUST be pretty dumb. (Why did I write this post? I don't know; I MUST be disturbed).

I suspect that you are referring to the very aggressive degree-mill that calls itself 'MUST University'. A psychology degree from this thing won't qualify you for a clinical psychology license in any American state and boasting of it as an academic qualification will probably disredit you among professional psychologists. I'd recommend that you don't waste your money.

There are several other 'MUST's out there. They typically are some word beginning with the letter 'M', then the words "University of Science and Technology". There's apparently a Mindanao University of Science and Technology in the Philippines, a Malaysia University of Science and Technology, a Misr University of Science and Technology in Egypt and a Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda. There are probably more. I haven't investigated them and can't comment on their legal or academic legitimacy or on whether any of them offer DL programs.

  15. LOL yes! I hear they offer an MBA but it's called a MUSTers degree.
