Hi all, If anyone posted this, I apologize. I just saw this news blurb on the WNMU homepage. They just scored a grant from the US Department of Agriculture for their distance learning programs. http://www.wnmu.edu/admin/pio/2010/usdagrant.pdf -Matt
That's great news... Hopefully this will allow them to offer a larger selection of the classes online as well... I keep looking at courses through them saying 'Sweet, I want to take tha... oh, its not offered online... ah well... Next.. .'
They are definitely expanding the courses they offer online. One thing to keep in mind, however. If there's a course that is NOT offered online, get in touch with the professor. While they can't let you enroll in the on campus course and do the work as if you were taking it online, sometimes they might let you enroll in an "independent study" course that is basically the same course as the on campus course. I have never done that, but I did contact a professor about doing it. He was more than willing to do it, because a few students had asked for it. Then I found out he wasn't the greatest communicator, so I opted not to do the course with him. -Matt
