First off i would like to thank everyone at degreeinfo, i found this site about 2 weeks ago. It has already helped me very much, and i feel like i would have been lost without it.

    Lansing Community College

    Computer Programmer/Analyst
    Associate in Business Degree
    http://www.lcc.edu/catalog/degree_certificateprograms/current/applied/0113.pdf
Also have an AB in computer database specialist. Both degrees can be earned online. $134/hr

    Macomb Community College

AAS in Information Technology - IT Professional
    http://www.macomb.edu/Current+Students/Educational+Offerings/Associate+Degrees/Program+Descriptions/IT-ITProfessional.htm
    Earned Online. 110/hr

    Oakland Community College

    AAS in Computer Information systems
    http://www.oaklandcc.edu/Catalog/Programs/ProgramsA-C/CIS.AAS.htm
70/hr This is my local community college, the offer some of there courses online but not all. The classes they don't offer online i could take with http://vcampus.mccvlc.org/, But i do not know if they would allow this.

I know that these degrees aren't exactly similar, but i do not know if i want a cs/cis degree or a it degree. Each of these schools are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

I am looking to know which of these programs stand out to you, or maybe recommendations for schools to earn my associates with similar tuition?

One of the degrees is an AB, Two are AAS, should i be concerned with this?

If you know anything about the fields, realistically what would be the best area to get into for future jobs?

Any help would be appreciated, gotta run to work. Thanks to everyone at degreeinfo.

After reading of your both threads. I assume you want to be in the IT professional field. Aren't you? Let me tell you one thing about the IT fields. Most of the IT fields don't need a degree, just IT certifications and experiences. However, if the job needs a degree most of the cases are minium a Bachelor in Information Technology, Information System, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, Programming, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and etc.

As far as accredit goes.... as long as regional accredit, and doesn't matter which region. Or National accredited, which a little bit tougher.

If you want to choose the Community College route. I recommend to choose the one that where you live 'cause their reputation only in local area.

If you want an associate's in IT, by all means, go to Hazard County Community and Technical College in Hazard, Kentucky. :D

Thanks for responding tekman, Yes i am almost certain i want to go into the it field. I also have an interest in web development, but realistically i would see it being hard to hold down a job. I also enjoy tech support, it seems almost daily i am fixing someones computer problems.
