Hi Folks - I hope this is not a re-post. I'm going to make a shameless plug for the University of North Carolina system. They seem to really have their act together with regard to consolidating their distance ed options. Ever wondered if you could get a health-related degree from UNC-Chapel Hill? What about an engineering degree from NC State?this can address those questions (and view hundreds of other programs from the state) at http://online.northcarolina.edu/ Hope this helps! Hey there, I live in NC and I agree that North Carolina Online offers many options. Many other states have the same type of online learning programs also. An example is the California Virtual Campus, which is comprised of both private and public universities: http://www.cvc.edu/students/courses/ Another example is the University of Texas system: http://www.telecampus.utsystem.edu/
And I don't know what kind of taxes you pay there, but in-state tuition for Durham Tech is a whole $50 a credit!!! http://www.durhamtech.edu/html/prospective/tuition.htm Get a whole 2-year degree for slightly more than the cost of CLEP exams.

It's good to see that the states recognize the value of getting their programs out there. Dark_dan - the taxes aren't too horrible here. But you're right, Durham Tech is about as cheap as cheap gets. It did sound like a sales pitch, eh? My only affiliation is that I'm in-state and I have gone to several of the schools myself. Then again, I've gone to schools out-of-state as well and would post the same if those states had a similar online presence. Mike
Well let me say this. As a graduate of one of the 16 institutions of the University of North Carolina System ( North Carolina Central University) and a Summer Tar Heel (Summer I and Summer II 1992), I wholeheartedly think the system is top notch. Every school is great within itself and much to the whole of the system.
