Hi all, I have been looking and have seen Academy of art university but it is expensive. I am a military spouse and I want to use a program that pays up to $6000. of my degree or certificate. It has to be in the USA and be accredited. I found one studio art class at Empire. Where can I design an MFA? or at least a certificate that would transfer to another school when I get back to the states. I am in England for the next 1 1/2 years. I have been to so many museums and the european architecture is amazing. Please help me figure a way to take advantage of these funds and my interest in art. Sincerely Kelli
Vermont College. Not completely distance-based, requires two ten-day residencies each academic year: http://www.vermontcollege.edu/about/low-residency-mfa
I took a quick look and didn't find any other purely distance MFA degrees, but you might want to take a look at the MLS/interdisciplinary thread here: http://www.degreeinfo.com/showthread.php?t=32784 These are master's degrees that have a lot of flexibility to "design your own" course of study ... often there are a variety of pre-made specializations including art. For example there is: Regis University: Master of Arts with a specialization in Fine Arts http://cps.regis.edu/degrees-master-arts.php Fort Hayes State University: Master of Liberal Studies (Fine Arts): http://www.fhsu.edu/mls/conc/conc-art/ etc ... Fort Hays made be of special note since it's relatively cheap.
