Hello everyone. I've been "lurking" for quite some time and must confess the information shared on these boards, by all of you, is phenomenal. While I may have posted this in the wrong forum (if so, please feel free to move it), it is my hope that some of you seasoned folks will be able to give me some pointers, guidance, suggestions, or whatever term works best... to help me formulate some decisions. My educational background: A.A. - Liberal Arts B.A. - Psychology M.A. - Forensic Psychology One of my goals was to obtain licensure as a professional counselor and/or psychologist. My state (Pennsylvania) will not accept the M.A. Forensic Psychology toward licensure because it lacks the clinical component to it. I knew this going in - but chose the degree because it interested me and it would allow me to apply for some positions within the state prison system (I am currently employed by the state). I have talked with the state board and they indicate I would have to take an entirely new master's program with the clinical part of the program included to qualify for any type of licensure. So, my interests / aspirations include: 1. Qualifying for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor 2. Qualifying for licensure as a psychologist (required doctorate) 3. Teaching within the correctional system Do any of you have suggestions for types of programs I should be looking at that may help me to achieve any or all of these goals? Do you have ideas about how to proceed? Recommendations for colleges or universities that are completely distance learning based (aside from occasional visits that may be required)? Anyhow, I thought I would go ahead and register to the boards and hopefully get some feedback from you folks --- and of course begin to offer my own views, where appropriate. Thanks everyone! Jeff
