Online Masters Family Therapy or MSW?

Hi

Can anyone recommend a fully online Masters degree in family therapy or
social work MSW.

I live in California and would ultimately like to set up my own practice. I would like the freedom to go to other states though, does anyone know any details about certification from state to state?

 

Grand Canyon University has a MS in marriage and family therapy. Best part is that it is specifically tailored for California students. Check it out at www.GCU.edu. Go to "online degrees" then "nursing and science". State requirement vary and California is one of the states with lowest requirements for licensure for counselors and psychologists. Many people who get licensure there are surprised to find that their license is no good in other states. This is because regional accreditation is necessary is most states for your masters program and national accreditation isn't sufficient. My suggestion would be to check the state counselors boards in states where you may want to move. Lots of horror stories abound about people who get a degree without making sure the educational requirements of their state are met by their degree.
