I see that NU has a distance masters degree which gives credit for war college, etc.
Does anyone have experience with this program?

  2. I looked at a few different graduate programs in International Relations, Norwich's MA in Diplomacy & Military Science program being one.

It's their program. It looks to be geared primarily toward mid-career military officers, although it's open to civilians as well. If you're not transferring credits in from another source (like the War College) your "diversity" of courses to choose from won't be very wide.

Mandatory periods in-residence, and certainly not the least expensive option out there. But Norwich is, primarily, a military university (I believe the oldest private military college in the U.S., but I may be wrong) and it has a good reputation in those circles. If you're looking for a program which leans more to the "Military Science" side rather than the "Diplomacy" side, this may be the one for you. The program director was helpful and responsive when I made my inquiries.

If you can handle the thought of attending Alabama's "stepchild" system (Troy State University) their International Relations program will also accept transfer credit from the war colleges. It's significantly less expensive, completely non-resident, and is a lot more "customizable."

    Thanks for the info.
I found that Touro also has a similar program that seems to be more user friendly and less expensive.
