I am caught between these 2 institutions. I would like a degree with name recognition so that it is recognizable by my employer. I have narrowed my choices down to 2, well actually there were 3, which included Golden Gate University but GGU is very expensive. Therefore that leaves me with 2. Brandman University is part of the Chapman University system and they offer the degree that I need, a Bachelors of Business Administration- Accounting. The negative thing about it is, Brandman University is quite expensive. Columbia College on the other hand has a satellite campus in Alameda County, California their primary campus is in Missouri. They are very affordable and I can see myself graduating from there with very little debt whereas I can see myself in massive debt with Brandman University. I know both institutions would offer a me a great education but I'm having a hard time deciding. I also want to go on to complete my Masters in the future. Which would be more practical? Thanks for your advice/feedback.

Hi - I know nothing about any of these schools in particular and so I'm just speaking in general about the pursuit of a degree that will allow you to pursue a grad degree, employment, etc.

On the BA level there is hardly an argument for choosing the more expensive program. Assuming two programs are both RA and otherwise respectable, the only reason for choosing the more expensive program is if they offer something special. If you have a 3.5 GPA you'll get into a very nice grad program regardless of which school grants your Bachelors degree. After that it's up to you.

Columbia is very popular with military folks. I know a few people who have completed their programs and really liked the classes and the price. It is a private, non-profit school and they also offer many degrees online.

Thank you for you feedback. It is greatly appreciated. I forgot to mention I will taking the courses online due to the fact that I am employed full time. I've decided to go with Columbia College since they do offer the Bachelors of Arts with an accounting emphasis online and the price is VERY reasonable. The school is also listed as a Best Buy for undergraduate and graduate degrees by geteducated.com

    Thanks once again!
