Good Morning, It may insure my job for next year if I am a Certified Nurses Aide. Wondering about the possibility of doing this on-line. I was 30 years ago a medical tech but have changed direction. Thanks. Hille
>> I don't think that you can, however, at all 3 of my local colleges with nursing programs, the CNA is simply a 1 semester course meeting a couple nights per week. One school offers the course on Saturdays. Face to Face might not be too tricky for that certificate, and there are generally no prereq courses. Good Luck!
There are some local community colleges in NC that offer the course work online but you have to do clinicals in person. You could email the program's head or the department at this community college, to see if you can complete the program in your state and do your clinicals there. I am not sure if the program will meet the CNA requirements in your state, but it does here in NC. The community college is Lenoir Community College, a small rural college, that does a great job of bringing programs to the rural surrounding areas: http://www.lenoircc.edu/coned09/jonesnews/schedules/spr10.pdf Thats the class schedule, if you scroll down you will see the online CNA course. You need to contact the director of the Jones County Branch campus: http://www.lenoircc.edu/coned09/jones.htm I am not sure about reciprocity of medical programs, but I do know that at the hospital where I worked, they accepted CNA's from NY, they just made them complete the CNA refresher course thats offered by community colleges here. Good luck!

A lot of it will depend on what state you are in and what they require
