Hello, I need some GPA ideas. I have 15 undergraduate credits that were not factored into my GPA. I was going to pay for credit banking at TESC but that service does not include GPA adjustment. Re-enrollment would cost $715. Any cheaper ways to show my GPA?. I'm doing this to broaden my graduate school options? Thanks. amanda jane

I am trying to take a one credit graduate course at Fort Hays. I was previously rejected because of my low GPA. I am sending them my additional transcripts, getting a letter from my Jones International instructor, and getting a letter from my employer. This is pretty extreme but it seems necessary. There seems to be limited flexibility in their admission process. The Project Management Concentration will not be formally ready until next semester but their acceptance of other RA graduate credits is the largest I've seen. I want to be able to attempt this direction and not be held back by my GPA. Thanks. Any ideas are appreciated. amand jane

Hello, Fort Hays is allowing me to take a graduate class conditionally. I faxed every work related certificate I have received, graduate work GPA, and letters of reference from my general manager and current graduate professor. I also had a letter added to my Thomas Edison transcript showing the grades in addition to credit value I achieved through the USDA distance learning program. TESC graduates need to check their transcripts carefully. The college is growing rapidly and little things that are not included on the transcript may effect opportunities. amanda jane

To follow up on the credit bank questions,
What do the credit bank tanscripts look like?
When Excelsior does a credit bank, do they just list the courses by institution? with grades and dates. Do they list the degrees? witth the colleges and dates?
What do other credit bank transcripts look like?
Would most employers find it easier reading a "Credit Band" transcript, or six or seven transcripts from a variety of schools?
Does anyone on degree.net actually have a credit bank transcript?
    All the best!

I've have one from Regents, it list the school, course, grade, date. If you want to use it for a college degree admissions, most schools require originals from all schools that you attended.

The only real + would be if you were working on a BS/BA degree and had credits from a hand fill of schools and wanted the courses to appear on the transcript ----- Most schools only list credits transferred in, example - Golden West College 19 semester units, St. Johns College, 3 semester units.

Another + would be college credits for a professional certification like an EMT, X-Ray Tech, RN, and so on...

And then my story, I received a BS from the University of Phoenix, I did not like the negative buss about UOP at the time, at was in the late 80's., so I got a related degree from USNY/REGENTS.

In my story/case, you can add credits to your transcript at any time for a small fee of $25 dollars.

So I have over 10 colleges on mine, including a Ed.D from Pepperdine, MBA from Redlands, and 16 credits for my EMT-Paramedic certificate. I'll working on a DBA @ Argosy and might add it to my transcript(credit bank), or maybe I'll just spend the money....

My advise -- don't waste the $$$$ unless you have a real need.

Thanks, that was a great response.
I have credits from eight colleges/universities. It costs over $80 to send original transcripts. I don't need original transcripts often. When applying for a position in a school district "student" copies will do on application. But if hired, they then want transcripts with a college seal. If I could cut the cost from over $80 to under $20, that would be a good deal over my lifetime.
I am considering taking a few Clep/Dantes exams to help add a teaching endorsement. The local Dept. of Ed. will recognize the credit if it is on a college transcript. The college bank sounds like it would meet the local Dept. of Ed. needs. Excelsior is pretty clear about the credit it awards for each exam. So I assume that the credit bank would list the exam, the equivalent Excelsior credit and a grade?
    All the best!
