    If the moderators will allow me, I’ll will to start writing about my experience with NCU. I think I can comfortably call myself a professional student so I hope I can be somewhat objective about this. I am self-financing my program so I have a lot at stake. Also I hope this may help those who are self-financing and are looking for feedback. My frame of reference will be my experiences studying with a few academic and professional institutions. I will rate my experience out of five:
    1 = unhappy
    2 = somewhat unhappy
    3 = average
    4 = somewhat happy
    5 = happy

    Here is how I’ll rate a few of the institutions I attended.

    Laurentian University = 5
    Lakehead University = 5
    Durham College = 5
    Professional Institutions = 4+

    I’ll refrain from saying anything negative or positive about NCU. So far I will rate my experience with NCU as a 3.

    Thanks

    I don't think anyone would fault you for saying something negative about NCU, as long as you had the facts to back it up. People often get shunned when they trash a university without giving details... Makes um look trollish.

    Could you expand on your 5-point rating system – does it a weighted comparison of all factors such as cost, customer service, faculty, course content, grading, etc?

    After all - one persons "unhappy" could be another persons "happy."

    Also it might be useful to include courses completed to date (e.g. 6 out of 60). It is hard to judge a school on one or two courses but easier based on several courses - I've been "unhappy" about several courses (not of interest to me, too easy, too hard, unable to understand instructors because of their foreign accent, poor text book selection) at various schools but overall pleased with all my programs (including an abbreviated venture into the NCU Ph.D. program).

    Thanks.

    May as well just give us the details, otherwise the thread is not all that helpful to someone who might be considering NCU.

    I might also add that in my experience courses get much easier the higher the degree level. Currently I am taking a 100 level course and it is harder than any graduate class I ever took (perhaps because it is not work/career/experience related).

    Could it be because the grad classes are ones you "want" and the lower level are not? Maybe you are just bored in the lower level classes and can't/won't focus??
